  • Should I book a 20 minute or 40 minute appointment?
    Our appointment structure is designed for you and your needs, which is why we allow you the option to choose your appointment length. For simple injuries or conditions 20 minutes is a suitable time to assess your injury and begin your recovery. For more complex injuries or conditions, 40 minutes is more suitable to address the more complex nature of your pain or injury.
  • What should I wear?
    Wear something that you are comfortable in. It helps if we can observe the area of concern in order to provide the most accurate and thorough assessment. We also love to use our gym space and so you are best to wear suitable clothing for this.
  • Can I use the gym before or after my appointment?
    Yes! We highly encourage you to come early or stay after your appointment in order to complete your exercises and conditioning. Your appointment fee covers access to the gym for that session.
  • Can I access the gym at other times?
    We are very happy to partner with Thrive Fit to help you make the best possible recovery. Access to affordable and convenient gym facilities helps make your recovery even more possible.   • How many appointments will I need?
    We anticipate that you are likely to need 3-6 sessions to recover from a simple problem. This number may vary depending on your individual circumstances. Our aim is to help you get back to your best. We will continue to work with you, helping you to achieve all your goals.
  • How long will it take to get better?
    Most conditions can recover over a 6-12 week period. Most of our tissue healing is completed over this timeframe. Less severe injuries may recover in a shorter period of time and more significant injuries may take several months of hard work to recover. It is through persistence and regularly exposing your body to appropriate physical demands that you see longer lasting adaptations and conditioning.
  • Do I need a referral?
    No. Physiotherapists are registered healthcare professionals with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Under Australian law they are permitted to see patients without a referral. Some third party insurers (e.g. Medicare or compensable bodies) may require a doctors referral in order to claim reimbursement for your costs. Please check with your relevant third party agency.
  • Will I need a scan?
    Scans or imaging are not required in most circumstances. Current best practice and recommended care guidelines advise that for many conditions imaging is not required. If in fact a scan or imaging is required, we will be sure to provide you with a referral for any relevant investigations (e.g. x-ray, MRI or ultrasound). This will be arranged in the most convenient and efficient way for you. Please note there is likely to be out of pocket costs for imaging, depending on the imaging requested.
  • Can I claim using my private health insurance?
    Yes, you are eligible to claim private health insurance rebates directly onsite via our Tyro Healthpoint. Most health funds are supported, for a complete list please click here.
  • What happens if I need to cancel my appointment?
    We understand that last minute changes are a part of life, whatever the reason. Cancellations up until and including the day before your appointment will incur no charge. Same day cancellations that are rescheduled will not incur any charges. Same day cancellations without rescheduling will be charged at 100% of the appointment fee. Missed appointments will be charged 100% of the appointment fee if you have failed to attend without notice. You can re-schedule or cancel your appointment from your appointment confirmation email.
